This Voices of Poetry-At the Seaport event, curated by Neil Silberblatt, will be held at McNally-Jackson’s location at South Street Seaport, located at 4 Fulton Street, New York City. I’m looking forward to reading with old friends and new: poets Doug Anderson, Richard Hoffman, Jennifer Martelli, and Annie Pluto.

Friday, 15 May 2020, time TBD. Books are Magic (Brooklyn).

This poetry reading, curated by Four Way Books, will be held in the evening at the Books are Magic bookstore, 225 Smith Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231. I’m looking forward to reading with several other Four Way authors, and will let you know more details when I have them.

“An Evening With Hafiz of Shiraz,” will be held at the Sufi community’s Dergah at 245 West Broadway, TriBeCa, NYC. Iraj Anvar and I will be reading (in Persian and English) from Wine & Prayer: Eighty Ghazals from the Diwan of Hafiz, a new and expanded edition of translation of Iran’s major lyric poet, Hafiz-i Shirazi (d. 1389). We will be performing with musicians Afshin Goodarzi (sehtar) and Dawn Avery (cello). Seating is limited, tickets are $20 in advance, $30 at the door.

“The Illusion of Power.” An evening of poetry and music with Voices of Poetry, curated by Neil Silberblatt. I’ll be reading primarily from SERIES | INDIA as part of the following all-star cast: Iraj Anvar, Jericho Brown, Cornelius Eady, Sanjana Nair, and Daniel Tobin. The Rubin is at West 17th Street, New York City.

“Wine & Prayer & Hafez.” An evening to celebrate the release of Wine & Prayer from White Cloud Press (2019). I will be reading and performing new and revised translations of Hafez (in English and Persian) with Iraj Anvar, esteemed co-translator, and Afshin Goodzari, fabulous musician.
